Luxury Retro Style!
Located in Mala Strana, Sax Hotel is a hipster’s dream with its whimsical, funky interior focusing on colorful retro designs from the 50s, 60s and 70s of the 20th century. Sax Hotel is situated in a building that dates back to the 14th century that was originally owned by Sax the Blacksmith. Over the centuries the building has served as an orphanage, a hospital for the unfortunate, and in the 19th century residential quarters; it was turned into a boutique hotel in 1994. The façade of the building today is Classicist, but the interior is anything but. The interior has meticulously recreated the atmosphere and style that was the mod subculture of the late 50s and early 60s, the freedom and love of the late 60s, and the colorful funkiness of the 70s with original furniture (some pieces have been refurbished, some pieces are in their original state), graphics, lighting and décor by the best designers of the time (Pantone, Colani, Saarinen, Earnes, and others) made with elements including plastic and artificial leather. All of the common areas, including a conference room for all your business needs feature the retro theme, as do the guest rooms. Visitors are free to pick the time period they wish to stay in.
Located on a romantic, quiet cobblestone street of Mala Strana, or the Lesser Quarter, Sax Hotel is in the vicinity of the world famous Prague Castle and other tourist sights such as Charles Bridge, Strahov Monastery, Petrin Hill and Nerudova Street.
