Mysak Sweet Shop

Located steps from Wenceslas Square on lively Vodičkova Street, is the famous Myšák sweet shop - well, a reconstructed version of the legendary sweet shop anyway as the Rondo-Cubist building that housed the famous confectionary from 1910 collapsed in 2006. In the true spirit of renovation and nostalgia, the structure was rebuilt and the sweet shop reopened its famous doors in 2008. In 2017, another renovation was made under the direction of professionals from Ambiente Group – the establishment that runs the popular Café Savoy as well. In cooperation with the Najbrt Studio, the place was revamped into an interior piece of art that pays tribute to the original design of the sweet shop. The team responsible for the reconstruction faced a challenging task indeed as the only remnant left behind was photographs. But once you set your foot in this whimsical confectionary, you will immediately feel the atmosphere of the First Republic with the crystal chandeliers designed by the Olgoj Chorchoj studio and the beautifully painted ceiling. The neon sign by the entrance itself is very unique – it is based on an original handwritten inscription. The Myšák sweet shop was one of the most popular establishments of the First Republic and was the dessert place to be with guests such as First Republic president, T.G. Masaryk and well-known actors such as Oldrich Novy and Adina Mandlova gracing its interiors. Skilled confectioners brought some of the original recipes back, so you can enjoy traditional Czech desserts and tempting sundaes together with delicious coffee from the local Nordbeans roastery. Make sure to also try the Myšák Caramel Sundae, a favorite from way back when! The Myšák sweet shop is the ideal place for a sweet afternoon treat!
