Public Transport to and from Václav Havel Airport
It is relatively easy to get to and from the airport in Prague, and takes approximately one hour via bus and metro. After you arrive simply go to the bus stop that is located in the airport parking lot, directly outside the arrivals hall; you need to take bus number 119. The bus runs approximately every 5 -10 minutes and it takes about 15 minutes to get from the airport to the Nádraží Veleslavín Metro Station (green line). Do not worry about missing the stop, it is the end stop for bus number 119 and everyone must exit the bus; it is also worth mentioning that announcements are made in Czech and in English (only on the bus going to and from the airport). From the bus you will go underground and take the metro to the city center – as our apartments are all located in the center you will in most cases be getting off at either Malostranská, Staroměstská, Můstek, or Muzeum (should you have any questions regarding which metro stop, please contact Prague-Stay.com – we are here to help). All of the apartments we offer are within comfortable walking distance from the metro stations.
Do not forget to buy a 32Kc ticket from the news-stand, DPP desk or from the yellow machine at the bus stop (the coin machines do not take bills, only coins). You should also buy a 16kc ticket for any suitcase or large rucksack.Note that if you buy a 24-hour pass or higher i.e. 3 day, etc. then you do not need to buy a separate luggage ticket as you are allowed one over standard piece per pass.
Please do not forget to validate your ticket once you enter the bus (you will see yellow machines). If you purchase a 24-hour or 3 day pass you only need to validate it once – just make sure to have it on you at all times. If you do not have your ticket, or the 32Kc ticket runs out then you will have to pay a 1.500Kc fine, if you are caught.
