Rony Plesl Studio

Rony Plesl is one of the best and most famous Czech product designers. This designer and sculptor is known mainly in the field of glass design and for his original glass and stone sculptures. He is also involved with interior design and drawing. Rony Plesl graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague where he has been working as the head of the Glass Studio since 2008. In 2002 he founded the Rony Plesl, s.r.o. brand and three years later the Rony Plesl Studio. His contemporary work focuses on uranium glass whose production has been preserved only in a few glassworks in Europe. Besides his own limited editions of glassware, vases and decorative items, Rony Plesl also designs factory produced glassware for leading manufacturers such as Barovier. Rony Plesl cooperates with Czech glassworks Moser, Ajeto and Květná and with the German company Sahm where he has been the main designer since 2009. As a designer he also cooperates with Denizli by Pasabahce (Turkey) and Preciosa (ČR) companies. His work is represented in many art collections. From many unique and interesting works of art by Rony Plesl let us mention for example a glass chandelier designed for the Prague luxury restaurant Mlýnec, glass sculptures for Disney World Hotel in Florida, a stone column for the German town of Zwickau or a glass tower for Hamburg, Germany. Rony Plesl has received many design awards and holds exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad.
