Dominik Mareš

If you are searching for intriguing art to add to your collection or simply wish to start collecting art, pay a visit to the fantastic studio of Dominik Mareš in the lovely city of Prague where you can witness his emotional work firsthand. The art studio, situated in the Pragovka Art District, is literally dotted with color as his paintings are on display, covering the walls. Born and raised in Ostrava, Dominik Mareš started to paint when he was attending secondary grammar school (to be followed by a solo exhibition at the House of Art in Opava in 1992). His oldest paintings, created then in Ostrava reflect the city's industrial beauty - the rawness of such an industrial environment comes alive with distinctive patterns and primitive pictograms. After finishing his education at he Faculty of Economics, Dominik Mareš moved to Prague where he would continue to show his work (namely a solo exhibition at the National Technical Museum in 1997, which included more than ninety paintings). His next series of paintings would be heavily influenced by travel and the exploration of new cultures, namely from the continent of Asia. To this day, he has been involved in four dozen solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and his bold works are part of private collections in more than twenty countries around the world. It is also interesting to note that three of his canvases were requested and rented for the American film Wanted; his paintings can be seen in interior scenes with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. Should you wish to commission an abstract color painting from Dominik Mareš, you can choose either a light color theme or a dark color theme and witness how the painting is created. Dominik Mareš also hosts from time to time art workshops for children. For further information about the artist and his studio, please visit the website listed below.
